Now what are they doing here?
We're U.S of A. Navy Squid's!
OK, so let's get beyond this! FACT: as the Keppler, the 'Mighty K' steamed for the USA for 25 years, that's about 2/3 of her life. FACT: as the Tinaztepe, the 'Mighty K' steamed for Turkey for 12 more years, that's about 1/3 of her life. SUMMARY: The Tinaztepe is very impressive food for thought, considering that she was already 25 years old before she started her service for Turkey! Now let's face it, she didn't get through those last twelve years all by herself, it took some very dedicated men to keep a ship that old going, and without the supply lines we had! We took pride in our ship. We also learned to respect other Professional Military Men regardless of their service or country. And...I don't know about you guys, but my curiosity is driving me crazy. What did she do for those last twelve years? SOLUTION: build the 'USS Keppler DD765 (DDE765)/TCG Tinaztepe D-355 Alumni' site! So, as far as I'm concerned, ANYONE that was stationed aboard the 'Mighty K' from the day her keel was laid, until the day her keel was cut, is WELCOME to participate in this site! In fact anyone that has something to contribute to this site is welcome! We were, and I hope still are, Professional Military Men! |
