About E-mail addresses and the Internet

You are at a great web site, and it asks you to use their form to tell your friends about it.
What would you do?
A) enter all your friend's email addresses on the form and send it.
B) enter just some of your friend's email addresses on the form and send it.
C) enter none of your friend's email addresses on the form.

The answer is C.
NEVER give your friend's E-mail addresses to a stranger!
(you have no idea who is behind that web site)

Why?
Because, by doing so you've just added your friend's E-mail address to a very large database. A database in which nobody can ever remove an address.
And, nobody can control how your friend's email address will be used in the future.
I guaranty you, no matter what the site promised, those E-mail address will wind up in a SPAM farm.
Soon your friends will begin receiving SPAM mail for everything from toothpaste to pornogrophy.
SPAM E-mail is the #1 pain in the butt that we all experience daily.

If you find yourself wanting to let your friends know about something great that you found on the Internet, tell them yourself.
Send them an E-mail yourself.
It won't take any longer than using some strangers web form.

Give your friends the option of entering their own address to the site, or NOT.
After all, it's their E-mail address not yours, and you did say you were their friend.

Respect your friend's privacy, and they will continue to call you their friend.
